Composition

Abboud discovered his passion for composition in his youth, finding refuge in writing music during the difficult years in Syria. Long fascinated by European classical music, he weaves its forms and harmonic thinking into an Arabic musical foundation, creating pieces that move fluidly between traditions without smoothing out their distinctive colours. Since arriving in Berlin, he has widened his palette through fusion and alternative scenes, writing across a broad spectrum, from orchestral and chamber works to band music, often foregrounding the oud’s voice within contemporary textures.
